Your rankings held; the clicks did not. This is the month the shift in search becomes impossible to miss, so it's worth being precise about what happened.
Impressions were level with July (77,913 against 77,423), which means Google showed Eftpos Now just as often as the month before. The live rankings check puts 31 of 37 tracked terms on page one. What fell was clicks, down to 519. People saw you as often and clicked through less.
The reason is on the search results page itself: Google now runs an AI answer above the results on 30 of your 37 tracked searches. Someone asks about POS systems, reads the summary, and never clicks. That is happening across every industry right now, and it is precisely why being cited inside those answers is the work that matters from here. The good news is you are already in 135 of them.
Branded searches held steady (91 clicks against 97 in July), so the softening is in non-branded discovery, which is exactly where AI answers intercept.
Checked live on Google New Zealand, 2 September 2026, across your 37 tracked terms.
| Where they sit | Count | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Number 1 | 5 | Includes "pos for events" and "pos for hair and beauty", both from July's new industry pages |
| Top 3 | 16 | Across the 37 terms on your sheet, which is a tighter set than the all-keyword counts quoted in earlier reports |
| Page one | 31 | Your July report counted 32 on page one from the sheet's own manual check |
| Ranking in the top 50 | 35 | Only 2 of 37 are outside the top 50 |
The standout: three of the four industry pages that went live on 22 July are already at number 1 for their target searches: "pos for events", "pos for hair and beauty" and "pos for hospitality". Six weeks from publish to the top of Google. The retail page hasn't caught up yet, sitting at 17 to 19 on its main terms, so that one is a next target.
The other gaps worth naming: "point of sale nz" and "restaurant tablet ordering system" are still outside the top 50.
| Measure | August 2026 | July 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Form submissions | 74 | 79 |
| Phone number clicks | 77 | 96 |
| Email clicks | 34 | 38 |
| Total tracked contact actions | 185 | 213 |
| Website visitors (all channels) | 2,003 | 2,203 |
| Organic search visitors | 703 | 744 |
Visitor figures follow your sheet's long-standing definition (users by first channel) so the trend line stays consistent with every previous report. Contact actions are website-tracked only, so any enquiry that comes by direct phone call or email lands on top of these. GA4
August was a transition month at our end while we rebuilt how delivery and reporting run after a team change. The blog cycle has been stuck since May and August's off-page batch did not run, and this report is later than it should have been.
